Graduating with a degree in
Mechanical Engineering in 1996 from the Technical University of Tajikistan Dushanbe, Sushil Kumar began his mining career in Tajikistan at the Tajik-British Joint Venture company called Darvaz, an alluvial gold operation. Sushil has since then worked for several other mining Companies in Tajikistan in a managerial position before joining Saddleback in November 2006. Sushil speaks five languages and has an indepth knowledge and understanding of the local Tajik people, and their business methods. |

Graduating from the Camborne School of Mines in 1976, Jan Ketelaar began his mining career working in Cornwall’s tin mines and then as an engineer on the construction of the Dinorwig underground hydroelectric power station in North Wales. In 1981 he moved to South Africa to work for Anglo American Corporation’s, Coal Division becoming a section manager at a large coalmine before returning to the United Kingdom. In 1987 Jan gained his doctorate researching the efficiency and design of underground coal mining equipment at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. Since 1989, Jan has held various positions as an engineer, consultant and advisor to international coal, gold and diamond mining companies, mining equipment manufacturing companies, government departments and development agencies in the United Kingdom, North America, Europe, Central Asia, South Asia and Africa. |
